Andy Garcia, Julianna Margulies and others. Slice of life comedy/drama, set in a little-known part of the Bronx.
Full of yearning, gentle laughs and comic set pieces. No graphic violence or sex. I give it three and a half stars. Margaret?
I saw this on dvd a few months ago, both my wife and I loved it. Clever. Not your typical american/hollywood movie.

My favourite movie I saw in recent times is "The Blind Side"... Sandra Bullock was great in this... first movie I've seen that's not a kid's movie that wasn't full of cursing and gratuitous violence.

Last movie I saw in a theatre prior to this one was "Valkyrie"... very decent flick...a movie where I could actually tolerate Tom Cruise...now that's AMAZING!... from a historical perspective, fascinating.
I saw The Blind Side on a plane on the way home last week - excellent film... I was just movie-surfing the watch-on-demand controller on the plane and no intention of of watching a whole film, but this one grabbed me and I stayed with it.

8 / 10.

watched Matchstick Men on DVD the other night. Appalling, trite, predictable bollocks. Don't waste one and a half hours of your life. Did practise some scales on my bass at the same time thought, so wasn't a total loss...

Another movie I watched a few weeks ago that I found amazing was Miracle at St. Anna.

Well worth hunting this movie down.

Just watched Matrix 2 last night, and 1 the night before.
1 is pretty epic and did some very land mark effects, and was good at the same time.
2, umm, cave orgy ? WTF is that about ? Agent Smith is such a bad ass !
3, those mech's are pretty cool

Want TV series reviews here too?

I watched the first ep of the new HBO series " Game of thrones " last night, and it was really awesome. Nice atmosphere, visually stunning, sword ( and perhaps sorcery) with likely political intrigues to develop . I am pretty sure if you like the genre, or liked the series "Spartacus - blood and sand" and / or "Spartacus - Gods of the arena" , or the movie " 300" you will like this.
Perhaps inspired by (a bricolage) of D&D and RPG's, and many strategy games of the past. (7 Kingdoms , Might and Magic perhaps)
A little violent for sensitive tastes and some nudity , seems tastefully thrown in though, not too hard core in the nudity department at all.

Stay tuned for more of this one.

You will need to import it or download it though. Aired in in the states on Sunday night.
