The Who Live at the Fillmore East 1968

Post by BazzBass » 25 Mar 2018, 12:47

Due out in April as 3 vinyl albums or 2 CDs.

Recorded at the Fillmore East the day after Martin Luther King's assasination.

It was a bootleg release in the 70s, worth it just for My Generation which takes up both sides of album # 3 lol

you just made my day, nay, week :)

use to have this on vinyl, back in the day. You'd get home and the record label said "German Philharmonic Orchestra" and you thought you got scammed but you'd play it and it was the bootleg. My guess is those old LPs from the 50s and 60s were much thicker so could be smoothed down and re etched.

The recorded sound is very clean - sounds like it came straight out the back of the sound desk - no ambience, just the dry sound from the close mics.
I see..............basses!
