Fifty for Bancroft and failure for Khawaja- what do I know?
Bancroft won't silence critics unless he makes a habit of it.
As for special K, I don't know why he seems so out of sorts. He wasn't the free comfortable K we saw a few seasons ago even during the ashes. The pitch over there isn't much different compared to the pitches he plays on over here....
The bowling attack was awesome.

This is close to the best team it could be. I think as soon as they find a good opener, Warner will relax and pummel the bowlers again, taking pressure off Usman and the Marsh brothers, then they'll beat everyone. The bowling attack is so confident now they will only get meaner

I'm starting to think Bandcroft is just a nervous starter. Once he gets going, he actually looks quite good. Which makes you wonder about this thing in his head about "I must face the first ball!". If I were the captain, I'd insist on a return to the normal protocol of the openers alternating the facing of the first delivery, or maybe toss a coin for it. Maybe he'll settle down a little better if he gets to watch from the other end while Warner faces a few.

how good is Starc?

SA were 6 for, needing only another 140 runs. The SA balcony was packed.

One Starc over later, a triple wicket maiden.

SA balcony was deserted cept for a couple with heads in hands lol

ONE STARC OVER

He's the real deal! I get criticised a lot for disdain I had for Mitchell Johnson. Yes he came good eventually. But when he was chucking pies and spraying them everywhere, there was this other really good left arm quick not being selected. Starc could go down as one of the greats if his body can hold up.

I was following the England V NZ test - Eng rolled for 58! Only 2 bowlers needed, Boult took 6, Southee took 4, they bowled 10 overs each................

I rate him waaaay up there with the greats already.
Even if he gets a terminal injury tomorrow, I'd still think he deserves to be up there with the great bowlers of the modern era.
His ability to execute late swing (and the tail) is uncanny.

Australian cricket died a little bit overnight

ashamed

the leadership group, big brave men, made Bancroft do it.
surrounded by cameras, what were they thinking?
Worse was the after game conference where Smiffy threw Bancroft under the bus ,as if it was his idea alone.
He has to go, not just as captain, 2 year ban

The footage is pretty damning. I don't know why a team with one of the best bowling lineups in the world feels the need to tamper with the ball?

I feel the same way as both of you.
For smiffy to admit he was part of planning it - he has to step down.
If this results in Bangers getting a ban, I don't know if this might be the last time he plays in the team, his form hasn't been great.....

on par with Trevor's underarm at Greg's behest.

years later, Greg joked "I don't know what made Trevor do that"

Never mind the footage, I just saw the press conference where Smith admitted everything. I can't believe my eyes or ears. Heads will roll!

Smith and Warner step down as Captain and Vice.

Tim Payne to step in as Acting Captain. Tim Payne? I guess when you take out the rest of the "leadership group", he's all that's left.
