The Spirits are made of wood, which doesn't really do justice to the Steinberger design. The originals were all graphite/carbon fibre construction and had incredible punch and sustain. They also had pivot plates, so they balanced perfectly. People were always surprised by the weight of the one I owned, as they weighed around 4kg and they expected them to be very light.
