Did you catch them at the Enmore a couple of years ago? It was a bucket list gig for me for sure! My wife is 10 years younger than me and she's a convert too.

Sadly I was in the Country at the time. I've just rediscovered the album and it hasn't lost any of its shine after these years. I'd say it's just about the perfect album.

Brilliant album, I didn't come to it until later so it didn't make the top 10. I bought it for my wife on vinyl a few years back, she has excellent taste, I wanted to thank her for introducing me to it.

Without thinking too much, in the order they pop into my mind:

1. Dave Matthews Band - Crash
2. Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet
3. Opeth - Still Life
4. RHCP - Blood Sugar Magic
5. Tom Waits - Blood Money
6. Zero 7 - Simple Things
7. Xerath - III
8. Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue
9. Dream Theatre - Images and Words
10. Ani DiFranco - Up Up Up...

Anyone else here think that it's less common now for younger people to listen to and absorb an album? I'm in my mid thirties and I reckon I've probably listened less to whole albums than I used to - it used to be that I'd mail order a CD (or a friend would bootleg onto tape when I was younger) and I'd listen to it over and over and over again.
Basses: Daion Performer, Ibanez SR500

no way do kids listen to albums. They just pick a playlist on Spotify.

No committment hehe

In MY day, first you had to pick ONE album to play, just one

then......which side had more good songs?

man it was tough :)

Abe Laboriel is such a badass bass player, a real highlight in Ron Kenoly's albums.

DIG - Steve Elphick is another fantastic bassist. Interview here...

Did Steve play in DIG? I thought it was just Alex Hewetson, Cameron Undy and Sam Dixon?

Abraham Laboriel was my number one influence in learning the bass. He exhibits so much passion and joy in his playing.
