Parking fines and venues that reside in heavy traffic areas policed by sneaky, vulturistic, shit-gibbons who don't even need to get out of their car to book you for parking in front of a venue long enough to get your gear out.
May their colourful, sugar-glazed donuts increase their girth making them unattractive to their preferred sexual partners and may their coffee fall into their lap as they speed off to avoid appeal...

Phockers...
Just a little bit upset there I read.
yeah the fine was more than I got paid for the gig!

That wouldn’t be hard these days. I’m off to Mildura for baseball championships this weekend and by the time I’ll travelled and accomodated myself I’m breaking even. I remember doing gigs was worse.

10 years - tell me you didn't miss out on your long service?
10 years and 2 months ... so I get my long service paid out. And my annual bonus as well, so the timing is perfect.
Paid out? Rich bloke like you will just chuck it on he pile or blow it on more basses. Give me 3 months off any day :)

But seriously, congrats and I hope everything works out the way you hoped it would.
Thanks Pete. The accrued LSL and AL payout is going towards a new car. I'm taking delivery of a Skoda Superb wagon later this week. As much as I love the CX-9 on trips (this is my second CX-9 so I've been driving them for 7 years now), it's a tank around town so I've decided to get something this time that is more fun to drive every day. Still plenty of room in the back for cricket kits and bass rigs though

Well, now they have released the CX-8 as well, which is a 7 seater that is basically the front half of a CX-9 and the back half of a CX-5. It is confusing, that's for sure.

Still a Mazda fan though - the missus has a SP25 - she's been driving Mazda 3 variants for 10 years now.

But the Skoda is great value and has a 5 year warranty - the base model has much more features than the same priced Passat, and has been Drive's car of the year for the past 2 years I think

Never thought about a Prado? I guess still gigging had a bit to do with my decision to buy a Prado, as well as liking to do a bit of real off roading.

Have you ever changed a tyre on a BMW? The jack is dreadful. There's also a special anti theft wheel nut which is hard to figure out in the dark at 1am. Then with all 5 wheel nuts removed, the flat tyre still wouldn't come off. I tried applying a bit of force and the car fell off the jack. Do you think that gave me a fright? He'll yeah!

Always put the spare tyre underneath the car. My dad taught me that and it saw me in good stead when the same thing happened to me a few years back.

Very late at night, heading back from a rehearsal up past Hanging Rock on a back road. Holden blows a tyre, not a problem I have a spare. Take the wheel nuts off but she's bonded to hub. Took to it a bit hard and it fell off the jack onto the tyre, thanks Dad! Gave me a bit of a fright though. Jacked the wheel off the hub, lifted it back up and changed it over. 200 meters down the road I get another flat. No kidding, 2am in the morning now, an hour from home and I have to call the wife for a rescue. Sorted it all out the next day and made sure all the wheels were not binding on the hubs on all the cars.

That's a good tip for next time. Thanks.

Bit hard to do on a motor bike? I'm guessing you have to lay it down when you are away from a garage with a stand.

On a motorbike, it's basically time to call a tow truck. There's no spare!

My car's a bit like that - no spare, just the dreaded foam cartridge :rollno: .
