Prices and weights look good. How does he make money at those prices? Raw Deltalite 12" speaker, sounds about right at $329. In a completed cab, $595. If these are being "made" in Sydney, this guy is working for free.

71 litres for the Deltalite sounds about right (450 x 450 x 420). Wonder why he went for a cube shape though? That's the worst shape for generating standing waves. I'd be opening the cab up and making sure there's lining on all walls because any internal reflections here could have a disastrous effect on the sound at higher SPL.

There's no visible port, and he doesn't specify if it's sealed or ported. If it's sealed, run a mile - that driver is not designed that way.

As for weight, if he's using plywood that's thinner than braced 12mm ply, those weights look about right but it also means the panels might vibrate and waste acoustic power.

Someone from Sydney buy one so you can bring it to my place for some bench testing :)

I just read the 212 blurb

"Fitted with either Celestion Truvox 12s or Eminence Delta 12As"

Both rubbish for bass. Definitely get the Neo Deltalite speaker option.

A 16kg 2x12 is pretty interesting, for sure. I see Eric is based at Petersham. His website is short on detail, so I wonder if he is open to a few people lobbing around to test drive his cabs? LOL

I see a tweeter (top left corner), but I don't see a port. It could be at the rear? And if there isn't one, we could always add one I guess.......

I assumed it was a cylindrical port, but you're right - the eBay description does say 12" + tweeter.

Kind of - he seems to have more guitar cabs than bass cabs. I guess we are a "potential" market ;)

Well, Cave Passive Pedals originally made 6 or 7 different guitar pedals and 2 bass pedals, and now they only make bass pedals :-)

can someone test drive them? I might be in the market for some light weight cabs in the near future.

Fixed for the grammar/typo police.

Hey there Petebass,

I have managed to contact Eric and he has agreed to let me come down to have a geezer of the 2x12" speaker box. Just wondering if you have the time if you would like to come along.
cheers Billybass

Billy I'd usually jump at that, but your timing couldn't be worse. Things are crazy busy right now,I'm already having trouble getting on top of things.

Just remember the Neo speakers are superior to the ceramic options in this case.
