That's great news that Labsystems isn't out of business. I used to play with a guy who used a C115-Pro Labsystems combo. It sounded incredible.

When mine eventually died, I look at replacing it with another one but their prices had increased dramatically, so I went with something else.

Their 410 and 610 cabs were also very good. If you see a second hand one for sale, look into it.

It died? Did you take it to Veto? It might have just needed a new mosfet or something. Veto is at Gallins on Paramatta road. By the way Labsystems are still around. Just do a web search and you will see.

Personally I love my labsystems gear here it is with my rig

I didn't know Veto back then, but that didn't matter. I'd take it to the shop I bought it from, who would then pass it on to Labsystems in Melb. New mosfets? Check! New Transistors. Check! I gave it every chance but it developed a distortion problem that wouldn't go away no matter what they replaced, so I got rid of it.

Mind you, that amp had a hard life. In the context of how I used it, that amp did amazingly well and definitely lasted a lot longer than any other amps would have.

I'm really happy with my Labsystems gear. Tim Evans is currently servicing my SS600 head. Not that there was any issues with it, just thought I'd get it checked out as I've used it regularly for 2 years.

I recently bought a Labsystems 250 Combo from a church for $390. I felt like I got a pretty good deal. It's a nice sounding combo, perfect for what I need.

Yikes - just noticed that Lab systems gear is no longer available from Bass Centre in Melbourne. I always thought the new stuff was a bit overpriced. Good gear though...but it's a tough market out there :/

Years ago I discovered that owning the biggest rig in the world was not a winner and sold my Yamaha BP1/Jands J600 off to my bro in law. I replaced it with a Labsystems 250B. I'd already borrowed a 400B off a mate and loved but figured I just didn't need more than about 250w anywhere there was a decent PA and I was right. The amp is great. Clean, hi fi, solid state sound and very strong for 250w. Stronger than most 400w amps I've encountered. I've had the transistors replaced once but that's all. I love it. The inbuilt compressor is pretty cool too.

I have to say, there is one weird thing about it. The volume dial has almost nothing til about 10 o'clock, then anything past about 12 and it anihilates speakers with distortion.... course by that time it's pretty loud too.

[quote="slashin_velvet"]For those who said Lab Systems is out of business this is incorrect. Tim is now working on the "George Evans" series of guitar amps (which are very nice), but he will still make any Lab Systems Gear for those who order direct from him. The thing is, he is no longer mass producing for store distribution.quote]

I spoke to Tim a couple years ago when I was looking for my new rig, and he told me he was no longer producing Lab Systems gear and suggested I tried somewhere to get one second hand???

I guess things have changed since.

I was at his workshop no more than 3 months ago. He's still building the amps.. only on order, though.

I got hold of an old Labsystems VP400 a few months ago and it sounds awsome, a little cleaner than my Ampeg SVP as I run the tube drive around 11 o'clock, but the 2 units sound very much the same .400 labsystems watts sound ridiculously loud more like 900watts and if you take a close look at any pictures of the VP400 on the web you will notice the volume knob is around 1 or 2, any more than that and you will bleed. It is also great as a DI for recording and delivers a warm fat tube sound straight to your computer. This is a great sounding aussie made botique bass amp, I only wish I discoverd them years ago.

I picked up a 410HP (800w) on the cheap and it is a sweet cab! Turning the tweeter up adds so much presence and depth to the sound, especially when running distortion. (I know distortion isn't good for tweeters but that won't stop me)

Well, I am surprised I haven't posted in here yet!

I ran a 410HPX for ages!! Stupidly sold it but recently picked up a 610HP from slashin_velvet.

This thing is a monster cab. Sounds great and very hard to find anything that comes close to sounding as good - oh besides the 410HPX!! HAHA!!

Pants flappin' goodness!

I have a 2x12 Labsystems cab, which is 4ohm.
I got it new about 8 or so years ago.
It really sounds great.
Even though I have GAS and want to swap my bass and amp around, I have no desire to replace the cab.
Love It!

Update; after a lot of years with my 250B head. Noticed it had some issues the other day while testing it with some other cabs (I thought my cabs were the problem). Anyway, sent it to Tim last friday. Talked to him today and it's fixed! Legend. Can't wait to get it back!
