Pedal boards ahoy! This is a community service picture. For when your significant other says you have too many pedals....

About the 10th version of my homemade Nano board. Not really about effects, more about tone, and mainly used for IEM gigs, recording, and when backline is supplied to warm things up.

Hey Rocksolid - I've always been intrigued by the Thumpinator. Does it really clean up the messy boom whilst allowing the right amount of bass through?

I've only just moved it to this board, but it certainly seems to clean up sub lows like finger noise etc. I was running it before my MS-60B on my other board previously, and the auto wah, octave, and synth stuff was more clean and musical with the micro thump in front of it. The other thing I've found is that removing all those sub lows, makes it easier to get your compressor set how you like, as the deep lows trigger thresholds quicker than most people generally like.

My Cave tighter ar$e is on my other board now as i wanted the variable frequency. I think the cave product is probably better value for money, and Broughton L + HPF is fantastic, but neither were around when I decided to get the micro thump. Our AUD was really strong against the pound when I got it, not sure I could justify the price now.

I like it better to be honest. The baked in tone is a little more subtle, the mix knob is really helpful, and the Harmonics knob is nicely voiced. However I've just sold it to Bobbydazzler as he really loved it, and I wanted something a little more neutral for some regular recording I'm doing with a mate, so I've grabbed the MXR M81 Pre Amp. Should have it next week. Be ready for an updated pic!

Yeah - they want me to pay for it apparently. Time to find another host site.

And here we are again! MXR M81 arrived yesterday, and my Nano board is done. Again. This pre can drive a power amp or power wedge. It's super clean which means it plays really nicely with the Fairfield Modele B. Very happy.
