NAD! Vox VX50-BA

Post by CamZH » 11 May 2018, 22:17

Decided a few weeks ago I needed a little practice amp.
My wife has 2, and I've only got 1 little rig...
So did some searching and this little rig kicks along very nicely.
Being only an 8" driver and plastic box I was skeptical.
But at the price point there isn't much else.

Controls are pretty simple, no fancy effects.
External power supply is a new thing to me with an amp.

very interesting. The NuTube , can it really replicate 4 old style tubes?

A 50w combo weighing 4.5kgs sounds good to me too !
Loud things: Markbass LittleMark 250, Hartke HA2500 amps, Hartke XL210 cabs
Pretty things: Fender MIA P, MIM P and J, SX J, Takamine ABG
Bands: Los Mescalitos , Distorted Tarts

4 styles of tubes is probably a bit of marketing spin...
The controls on it dont give you much in the way of selection, gain, 4 band eq, and master.
There is a drive and compressor switch, but no other control over them

Gave it a bit of a run on the weekend really happy with what it does.

I thought this was a pretty good demo:
