Lava cables alternative

Post by thorne_92 » 03 Apr 2018, 16:10

Hey guys,
I bought a lava cable about a year ago, after about a month it started crackling and cutting in and out on me. I ended up claiming the lifetime warranty and was sent another cable. Again after about a month the exact same thing happened. I wrap all my cables correctly and never had a problem until lava and within the same time frame. Anyway after having originally payed $75 for a cable that crapped out on me I'm looking for something else. Do you guys have any recommendations for instrument cables that wont die on me? I was looking on the monster website and they're currently having a sale, I've heard some pretty mixed stuff on them so I wasnt sure whether to pull the trigger.

Any recommendations would be great, thanks guys

I went to my fave bass tech who moved a fair way away from me. Happens to be 400m from my second band's rehearsal shed. He recommended the top of the line Klotz cable as the best quality.
Had a price of $75 but,as usual, he only charged me $50. It's a 6m cable with Neutrik ends.
Klotz Prime Guitar Cable is it's name. Claims low capacitance of 95pF/m, resp 29 pF/ft....if someone could explain the hieroglyphics that would be nice :)

I either make my own, or use this guy. The end result is the same - a decent quality cable, and most importantly Neutrik connectors with a quality solder job. From there, everything else is just over thinking.
