David Searle Bass Demo Videos!

Post by stonecoldbass » 16 Mar 2016, 16:32

Hey guys,
Here's the part you've been waiting for, a chance to see and hear some of David's amazing work in action. There has been no tonal shaping to the bass recording, only compression and level matching.
Apologies for some sloppy playing, the old 'in a music store and your brain goes blank when trying to think of things to play' syndrome.
Enjoy!

And now you can hear why I selling the Azola to fund Marilyn! I've had the pleasure of playing 7 of David' basses and took one home for a little while too. Almost brought the Walnut backed one too but no it's Marilyn for me.
... dial in some "J" to angry it up!

Got gear but little talent!

It's amazing how each bass has its own unique character. All different flavours of goodness. The 6 string is so clear.........would be terrific for jazz. The wenge neck bass is so thick and full sounding yet still very articulate, and Marilyn sounds like a terrific allrounder. Great stuff

They all definitely have their own personalities! The six string is surprisingly playable even though it only has a P pickup, it's very musical. The singlecut is exactly what you'd expect; comfortable, playable and clear, as is the wenge through neck design. I've had some recent 'online discussions ' with some people who believe wood has no effect on the tone. I believe these videos are prime examples of the opposite
