HELP with freight to Denmark

Post by rumbles » 17 Mar 2018, 07:59

Hi all.
I have a '65 precision on ebay at the moment.
a gentleman from Denmark has asked if I will ship to him.
has anyone had experience with affordable and reliable shipping to Europe?
thankyou

That there's a rosewood board, and europe takes CITES more seriously than Australia seems to.

^ Oh Australian Customs take it seriously.

Were they still using Brazillian Rosewood in '65?

If so, that is a CITES Appendix 1 species- even bigger problem shipping across the borders of signatory countries, than other Rosewoods which are now Appendix 2.

Even if it is not Brazillian there would be Customs issues to sort out, as Packrat has alluded to. Don't want to run the risk of it being seized somewhere.

Internationally, it's all courier stuff. Within the country, it has to fit into the regular parcel service.

Aussie Post website says international dimension limit is 105cm max length. I doubt you'll fit a P bass in a case within that length.

I recently sent a BB3000 with ebony board to the UK.

Got the buyer to organise shipping from his end. I think that works much better if there are any hassles en-route.

No mention of CITES at all? Is ebony included?

Try Interparcel - I punched in some numbers on their website and the prices look good. Choice rates them as well. I'll be using them if my AEB-1 sells to an overseas buyer. They're an aggregator that uses a range of couriers and obtains bulk discounts.

I've emailed Australia Post to get their official position on the 105cm limit that's on their website
