Just picked this up from the Bass Centre, tuned ADGCF. Plays great and I think I’m liking the passive tone slightly better than the active but I’ll save my judgment until after the first rehearsal.

I have one of these, has become my main bass after many years of being a 4 string only player. I tune mine e to high c (or d to c with the added drop tuner). I didn't like the active electrics in mine and swapped it out for a Nordstrand one I scored off here.

Which model? I’ve only tried the older fanned fret ibbys and they didn’t quite fit me. That said. I’ve now taken it up with a Dingwall.

Probably the only Ibanez gave fanned fret bass in the world with a pickup cover.

That doesn't actually cover a pickup lol, but in the transition from 4 to 5 I found that having it there has made it easier.

I have one as well. I use that and a SR655, and I really dig them. I prefer the nordy's on the SR655, but i prefer playing the SRFF850. Even though the body and neck are identical (bar the frets)

Takes a bit more work getting the tone i like from the barts, but overall they're a great bass for the money.

It’s the SRFF805, I tried a Dingwall when choosing this Bass and although the B string sounded better the fan was much more pronounced and would have taken longer to get used to. I’ll probably end up picking up a Dingwall at some point, after my muscle memory gets used to the fan on the Ibanez.
