Post by swalexbass » 08 Feb 2018, 09:51

Received her from the US yesterday. This is my first Ken Smith, and I'm absolutely blown away. Huge tonal possibilities, flawless craftsmanship, and the trademark Ken Smith tone in both fingering and slapping. 100% recommended to anyone considering to buy a Ken Smith.

Fingerboard: Macassar Ebony with Mother of Pearl Top & Side Dots

Electronics: “NEW” Smith B.M.T. 3-Band EQ 18-volt Circuit: Internal 4-way adjustable frequency DIP Switches for each Band, Including Series/Parallel Switches for each Pickup

could be suggested that the schecter is a tiny bit outclassed in that family shot ... tidy selection there

Thanks haha... The Schecter is my first ever bass, gifted to me by my sister when I first started playing bass in 2004. It has high intrinsic values to me :)

Cheers :) I've always been a big fan of Quilted Maples and Buckeye Burls. I hope my next bass is a burl top one.

Some very nice details there. And if you use heavy enough gauge strings you can easily convert to a 4 string without changing the nut!

A: O'Neill B15 copy, Mesa Walkabout, Ampeg Repro 15, Fender Neo 15
FX: TC Electronic clip on tuner and lotsa fuzz

Nice, would love to check out your Black Tiger (do you have pics of them? :D). The White Tiger is the sister model of the Black Tiger and they are basically the same instruments with cosmetic difference. They use the same woods except that Black Tiger uses Walnut top and Tiger Maple core, whereas White Tiger uses Tiger Maple top and Walnut core.
