NBD: Yamaha BB1025x

Post by johnnyrico » 30 Jan 2018, 13:09

Okay, i don't know how I fluked this one but I saw a 1025 on ebay that was just around the corner from me and well...I won!

Here is a quick pic I snapped rather late, but I'll be sure to take some more when I get the chance:

The previous owner wasn't a bass player and picked this up with the intention to learn but never got around to it. It still has the tags on the headstock and the plastic film on the pickguard, even the strings feel new.

Can't go wrong with one of those! Since I got my BB1024x I've sold most of my other basses due to them not getting playtime time anymore..

Awesome bass, congrats. Pretty nice starter instrument for someone who never played.

+1 My 1024X is still one of the best passive basses I've played. Wish it was a bit lighter though....other than that it's just perfect

Ivan, it's playing your bb1024x that set me on the path to buying my 1025x. It's a appreciably lighter than my SR5 though.

Nice score!
That whole BB series are great; if anything, I actually prefer the passive models in that particular range. I've got a humble little BB-414 here that I picked up for next to nothing with the intention to turn it over & make a quick profit. I ended up setting it up as an old skool Flatwound machine; it was too good to sell!

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever played a Yamaha Bass at any price point that I wouldn't be happy to walk on stage with.

:yep
BASSES: Spector; Fender; Yamaha; G&L; Alembic; Ibanez; Jerry Jones; Danelectro; Rickenbacker; Ergo; ESP; Kraken; DeArmond.
AMPS: Acoustic; Ashdown; Ampeg; Eden; Epifani; Markbass
