NBD- Rickenbacker 4001

Post by thedudeabides » 27 Mar 2017, 15:17

Hey folks, picked this up while I was in Sydney over the weekend. '81 with OHSC. Made it home in one piece too.
Has been well played, with loads of mojo.

Cool. Congrats. What the difference between a 4001 & 4003?

Age mainly, I think. They made a few small updates and called it 4003.

But a Fender Precision has changed more over the years and retains its name.

The 4003 doesn't have the 'skunk stripe' through the neck and body. The truss rod system is slightly different, and the circuit for the rear pickup is slightly different. They made both for a couple of years before phasing the 4001 out.
