Hi Clayton,

The 25Hz unit was originally designed for Tearalong. Stephen uses an octave pedal in his effects chain which he worked out to give a frequency of approximately 26Hz, at the lowest.

Dave (aka BobbyBDazzler) has recommended that all units should be made 25Hz, to give good headroom for detuning and 5/6 strings etc. Even though a 5/6 string sits at around 30Hz, as you mentioned, giving a little more room down to 25Hz should avoid minor signal losses but still protect the speaker.

I would definitely go for the 25Hz unit.

Cheers
Heath

OK, sounds good to me, make mine a 25Hz then also please :)
Thanks Heath!

If it's not to late, I'd like a 25 hz unit, thanks.

Hi Heath,
Could please I revise my order to a 25Hz unit if you haven't started construction already - I'm thinking it would be good to have the flexibility for a 5/6 string for this order.

Hi Heath,

Could you please put me down for a 25Hz unit if not too late? I play both 4-and 5-strings but I'm hoping that the 25Hz cutoff would still help tighten up my 4-string CIJ Precision's shapely arse. Looking forward to trying it out!
Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

@ Bassmaniac. Hi Lawrence, I have removed your name from the new list. Are you still having problems with your original unit?

@ Ryan. Can you check your PM messages please. I have not received confirmation of your payment, as yet.

@ JonoBurgess. I believe you have received my PM but I have not received confirmation of your payment, as yet.

For those that have paid, thank you. I know I have received 15 payments to date, from 16 confirmations (possibly Clayton's (Cl8n) or Tim's (Wokeye) payment hasn't gone through yet). Don't worry, I will check my bank this week and let you all know who has and who hasn't paid.

Thanks
Heath

Still in use on the odd occasion my old classic rock band gets together. Not often enough though...

Cheers,

Hi Heath,

Could you check if my payment made it into your account? It should have gone in on 01 June.

As I mentioned in my pm's, it was the first time I made an online transaction from the account, so I'm a bit concerned that if it didn't go in your account the money is lost in the digital ether :/

Thanks mate,

Hi Lawrence,

Just read your PM. I was thinking the same thing, that a 25Hz unit would be the go, especially that you're using a five stringer. BUT... however you look at this, there will always be a very slight (hardly noticeable, especially at gig levels) drop in volume, as a few passive components are in the signal path.

Send your 30Hz unit back to me (I'll PM my address to you) and I'll get a 25Hz unit built for you.

Sorry for any inconvenience, Lawrence.
Heath

PS. No, passive effects (the Grunt, BMR etc) work the same as powered effects, one way only. You might get a small signal if reversed but will sound crap.

The passive HPF is different, in that the components are chosen to be as transparent as possible but will only work as intended in one direction.

Hi Blaine,

Yep, no "Arse", no problem! Will just stamp "TA".

Did you get round to sorting the Cave Monsters out?

Cheers
Heath

Hi Clayton,

I'm sure your payment went through ok. It's probably Tim's that took it's time (Tim did say it would take a few days).

I don't have online banking, so will have to go into town.
