Hi Guys,

I've recently re-tested the compression circuit and have decided it's more a limiter than a compression, do you guys agree?

Here's Dave's thoughts on the TTC that's built into the demo bass with the Cave Monster pickup...

Here is a Demo of the beast, I ran the bass straight in to my trusty Line6 Studio 110 on the Eden emulation and recorded through the camera microphone. My favourite was setting two with the drive and EQ and surprisingly setting four which is the compressor setting. Its defiantly not a slap or heavily squished type of comp but more your old sustain pedal type, nice meaty sound, I liked it.

Heath/Mark

I would love if the TTC pedal could be sent to me last and I will post a YouTube of it, if it's anything like the compression in the Cave Monster bass I'll have to buy one.

Is this similar to the Demeter Opto Compulator? Adjustable output gain and compression ratio with fixed attack and release?

Similar... possibly... I've never tried one but the Opto Compulator sounds similar to my Fender Bassman Compact compressor which (from memory) has an optocoupler setup.

The difference between the Cave TTC and the Fender compression would be the feel, the "sag" response. The Fender compression can be very noticeable on some settings, which is excellent when using a guitar for country style or running with an overdrive to get that nice, soft "saggy"output valve tone (the Fender Bassman Compact is a tranny). The TTC is more natural, it won't cause sagging. When on full, it levels out your playing; it prevents any loud notes from the bass to peak at the amplifier.

Ask James (jpr_musicman) and Dave (bobbybdazzler) for their experience with the TTC circuits, for a "players" opinion.

Cheers
Heath
