is anyone running their Tight Ar$e with a GKMB500? Going in the front, I get a subtle reduction in the low end, but if I put it through the effects loop I lost WAY more bass, to the point that it is unusable.

I've tried the TA into the effects loop of my TH500 and it was fine. If someone has the MB500, could you please try it though the effects loop and see how it goes? I can't tell if it's my unit or an MB500 thing.
I tried it with my MB500 and got the same result. Fine on the input, unusable in the loop. I'm not sure what to make of this, perhaps it's an impedance issue.

Hi Guys,

The Tight Arse was designed for input use only. Sorry, I didn't think about the effects loop.

If I have time, I'll do some tinkering. BUT... knowing that all my amps behave differently effects loop wise, I'm not sure if a passive Tight Arse unit will be versatile enough for all applications.

Cheers
Heath

Thanks mate. That would explain why it worked well with my pedal board rig into a PA but not my actual whole rig with the effects loop. I'll give it a go tonight at home. Now just to figure how to mount it in my case for the input... :)

I had a gig on Sunday and tried: bass-Zoom B3-tight arse-amp. Completely sucked the tone from the bass. So then I went back to what I normally do: bass-tight arse-Zoom B3-amp and it was fine that way round.

I didn't have time before the gig to try to find out why the first way wasn't working but I know a lot of you put the tight arse just before the amp so I was surprised with the outcome. To me it sounded like the sound some of you have reported from placing the right arse in the effects loop.

Any ideas?

If you have any left I'll buy one, only just joined. Otherwise I'll wait for the next run.
One of the things that really annoys me about my ephiphone zenith is the really low frequencys when it accidentally gets knocked or bumped

Maybe... Still waiting for a 30Hz unit to arrive and be swapped for a 25Hz unit. So, there could be either a 25Hz or 30Hz unit up for grabs, shortly.

I'd be happy with either so let me know when / if one is available.

Sorry to revive an old thread guys...

Wondering about peoples' experience of this HPF box a year on? Are people still using it with good results? is this something which should be obviously audible in a loud, live setting?

Thanks

Are there any more of these available to purchase at the moment?
Or is there another run in the near future mayhap?

Handy to have around. I've only needed to use it once at a gig when I was stuck in a real boomy spot, it did a great job. In the same spot previously I just had to suck it up and not really hear myself through the mud.
Also gets used a bit at home when I have a chance to crank the amp in my shed. It stops stuff vibrating off shelves ☺

I consider my " Tighter arse" as an insurance policy. My effects are not excessive but I don't want to push my gear into conniptions if I get carried away
