Finding a guitarist...

Post by kat888 » 30 Mar 2017, 11:42

Any recommendations on where to advertise for musical collaborators (eg bandmix, musolist etc)? I'm at the stage of looking for a guitarist to start kicking around musical ideas and would prefer to avoid hipsters and serial killers.

Very helpful I'm sure!

And ... don't you mean not all serial killers are hipsters?

I think the way to go these days is the various musos wanted type groups on Facebook, or Gumtree. I think the days of those bandmix type websites are gone - they tended to die around the same time as Myspace did I reckon.

and don't forget the good ol going to open mic nights and network a bit, I know it's very hit and miss, but so is finding someone good and sane via facebook and gumnuts

my acoustic trio is having it's first jam with a percussionist tonight,we found him thru an old drummer of our old band , he has been playing in lots of nostalgia rock n roll bands so has good contacts. Maybe call all your old bandmates for suggestions?

It's 30 years and 3 countries ago since I had bandmates. I'm looking more for Rowland S Howard's long lost twin than Mustang Sally.

had our first jam with the new drummer.

oh man he is everything we wanted and more.

happy playing just cajon if the gig requires it

has a Rogers kit and an electronic kit,so we can all go thru the PA when it suits or go traditional amps and wooden kit :)

KEEPS TIME ! he even was the first to arrive bang on time, he quipped "well, that's my job, being in and on time"

if he IS a serial killer, I don't care
