well my first gig since last century went down a treat today :)

the first gig in my life where I wasn't nervous at all, these anxiety pills work well hehe

A dog barked at us, a baby clapped along in his pram, my guitarists uber talented boys thought the rhythm section kicked ass, and they were right. Not even one bum note,I'm very proud of myself hehe.

Amp was a beat up GK 400Rb and the cab was an even more beat up Musicman 412. The BEST sound I have ever played with in my life , who woulda thought? So relieved to get this one over with without cocking up at all.

First gig without the aid of alcohol and tokes too, I've set a high standard for myself. Playing sober was really great fun,I pledged to always play straight and sober (ish)
Loud things: Markbass LittleMark 250, Hartke HA2500 amps, Hartke XL210 cabs
Pretty things: Fender MIA P, MIM P and J, SX J, Takamine ABG

Got a couple of local(ish) shows with my regular covers gig this month.

I've worked with Andy for several years. A good tight band with a huge repertoire.

Bayside: This Sat (4th Nov), Mordy HQ, 9:30pm

Northside: Sat 18th Nov, Miller St Bar, Epping.

Because of work I can't get to the Melb GTGs. Would be nice to meet a few of you in person, so come and say hi!

Cheers.

I'm hosting a Jazz jam session this Thursday night at the Gaelic Club in Surry Hills from 8pm until late.

Would love to have some bass players come down and have a play and let me grab a beer or 3 haha.

Cheers,
Lindsay

2017 -anus horribilus for Behind the Eight. Holidays, hospitals and a hernia all got in the way.

Anyway, BEHIND THE EIGHT is back this weekend.

Sunday March 4th at the hardcore rock and roll time of 9am until 12 midday, we are playing in Brookvale at Surfside Motorcycle garage 42 Winbourne Rd Brookvale, at their European bike show.
There is food, there is beer and there will be a crowd......weather permitting!

good luck with the album launch Mark, I assume you played on it?

Our guitarist wanted to do a CD launch as our first gig. Umm mate, who is gonna turn up? we haven't played yet lol. And I'm not releasing the crappy demo we recorded with hand percussion before we got our fabulous drummer.......no idea some people lol

Not this one - the guy who wrote the songs is a freak who can do everything - the entire album is him apart from the drums

Enjoy the gig, Mark! Stu's a talented guy alright .... I don't know if he hit you up to play with Grand Union this week ... it's a shame no one could cover it. We were supposed to be playing with them in the Gong this Sat but they had to pull out, so we had to change the line up ... which I guess I should post here now also :D

Los Mescalitos at the West Thebby this Friday night

with special guest Don Morrison, ex Sensational Bodgies, Adelaides most loved band from the 80s.

One of my biggest thrills , the fabulous Don Morrison that we've been fans of since 1980 when the Sensational Bodgies ruled the Angas Hotel, will open for us :)

Shame I have to miss Steve's (Rocksolid) gig just around the corner from me, D'OH !
I was surprised that Steve hasn't heard of Don, til I did the math and realised he was 9 when we were getting drunk seeing the Bodgies hehehe

Thursday - relatively central location in Coburg. We'll play for about 60 minutes, and there's an opportunity to jam as well (provided you're there early enough to get your name on the board and ideally bring your bass).

Will play the full Genzler rig and of course a couple of my Polaris basses. If you want to come along and would like to see a particular one let me know and I'll fit it in the car.

Regards,
Michael
