For sale is this excellent Ampeg B-15 clone by Mal O'Neill.

Recently serviced by Vito Portolesi and sporting a new set of four TAD 6l6wgc-str power tubes.

Compact. Easy-to-carry. Sounds great! Just like a B-15, but pumps 100w instead of 30w.

16kgs

Located in Summer Hill, Sydney.

Certainly would, I was using this on top of a sort-of-nv115, it was a 15/8 sealed made by LDS in the States to sound like a small NV610 (sort of like an NV115). Sounded glorious together.
B: Fender Mustangs, Narcdor Precision, Lindsey Precision, Nash Jazz, Framus Star Bass, EBMM Stingray
A: O'Neill B15 copy, Mesa Walkabout, Ampeg Repro 15, Fender Neo 15
FX: TC Electronic clip on tuner and lotsa fuzz

I would have to move my B|Amp to justify this. Not quite sure I could do it.

Are there any comparisons anywhere of these Clones to the V4-B?

There's no gain/master volume (just like a B15) so you won't get the overdriven grind that you can get out of a V4B

Rolling Stoned | The Volts | Doors Alive | Bonza | The Vinyl Beats

Basses: Nash, Fender, Ampeg, Cataldo, Duesenberg, Greco, Ibanez
Rig: Fender, Ampeg, PJB

Endorsing artist: Fender; Cave Passive Pedals

I used to own a Magnavox era v-4b, with the single volume control for each input, and it was certainly a different beast to this. I think mainly due to the preamp circuit and tubes.

Having said that, I’ve got and old JAN-Philips 5751 in the pre section of this puppy which knocks off about 30% if the gain of a 12ax7... If you were to swap it out with a higher gain tube you would get more volume and break up.

Yeah I don't think I would be chasing grind with this - just that big fat girthy tube tone for the times I don't want to roll out the SB300

No, mine was a twin channel version and was clad in Ampeg navy check cloth. Narcdor owns that now.

I ran mine with a 610 a few times and it did just that magnificently

Yep, this is my old amp, I bought Mark's two channel and decided I couldn't hoard both of them. Definitely does the large warm round fat girth clean thing exceptionally well, very short and simple signal path helps with that I think.
