Re: FS: O'Neill 100w B-15 Clone - $1250 shipped

Had a couple of PMs but she’s still up for grabs.

I’ve updated the pre tubes to nice vintage ones and the power tubes to brand new TADs, so the $1250 shipped price is firm - same as what I bought it from Narcdor for.

I would have to move my B|Amp to justify this. Not quite sure I could do it.
You can move it to the top of my NV115s :D

Whats the difference between the 2 inputs? Active passive input gain sort of thing or is it 2 different voicings available on these 64/66 if I recall?

I used to own a Magnavox era v-4b, with the single volume control for each input, and it was certainly a different beast to this. I think mainly due to the preamp circuit and tubes.

Having said that, I’ve got and old JAN-Philips 5751 in the pre section of this puppy which knocks off about 30% if the gain of a 12ax7... If you were to swap it out with a higher gain tube you would get more volume and break up.
I thought B15's had 6SL7's as their preamp tubes and not 12ax7's. that was one of the reasons they had "that" tone.

Is this a clone which has a vastly different tube set?

Spot on, LowGroove.

The tube line up in this amp is 1 x 6SL7, 1 x 5751 and 4 x 6L6.

My favourite amp tech is not a fan of 6SL7s as he thinks they’re too microphonic, but sounds great to me.
