BBNE2 is a very nice bass indeed, you rarely see one up for second hand sale... I bought mine from basscentral in USA 5 years ago, and have been very happy with it. Best of luck with your search man, I guarantee that you will NOT regret getting one.

There was one in Perth second hand recently for $3500... seems to have sold now. That musocorner price seems pretty good in that light

Agreed; if you really want one of these, that's not a bad price; they rarely come up for sale S/H.
:yep

I can't say enough about these Basses. While I haven't actually played an NE-2 yet, I do have a BBN5A, which is basically an NE-1 with a less figured maple cap & a rosewood fretboard instead of ebony. I spotted it in Ellaways Music in QLD one day & just on a whim picked it up & had a play. The thing absolutely floored me; I literally couldn't put it down! It had a retail of $2200AUD; when they offered it to me for $1600, I just about fell over myself getting to the Till.

18 years later it's still my desert island Bass.
BASSES: Spector; Fender; Yamaha; G&L; Alembic; Ibanez; Jerry Jones; Danelectro; Rickenbacker; Ergo; ESP; Kraken; DeArmond.
AMPS: Acoustic; Ashdown; Ampeg; Eden; Epifani; Markbass

Are they that expensive even second hand? Cuz I bought mine brand new for less than that 5 years ago from USA. 8/ Also there's a second hand one on talkbass selling for ~2000 USD at the moment.

Yamaha makes amazing basses. Especially the TRB and the BB series. The quality of those models are on par with many of the custom basses out there. Amazing quality, sleek modern looks and huge tonal possibilities. Also the mid cut feature is really fun to play around with.

they rarely come up, and I don't know if it sold at that price. I think it's too high for 2nd hand considering what you can buy in the market, but $2500-3000 AUD does sound more reasonable... if you can find one.

Another thing to consider guys, the ne2 is made in the Japan custom shop and what we buy is what Nathan himself has, and musos can do such a good price on them because yamaha Australia used to keep one in stock for the country and were lucky if they sold one a year, mine was sitting there for over 2 years apparently, and musos ordered a heap and have sold at least 4 a year now, also I will note that it came with quite a decent hardcass where my similarly priced sandberg only came with a gigbag

There's also a BB5000A with Bartolinis and an EMG preamp for $1000 on Facebook marketplace in Perth.
