FS: First Act Delgada Custom Shop $1500 - Trade added: Stingray 4H or Jazz Bass

Post by bloodmason » 06 Oct 2014, 00:28

Update: will trade for Stingray 4H Maple, natural/vintage burst or Jazz bass natural or burst maple or rosewood (road worn would be cool) +/- cash depending on value.

Selling my First Act Custom Shop Delgada. Possibly one of the most attractive basses ever created - based on the Gibson RD. This one is in absolutely mint condition apart from a few tiny nicks on the top of the headstock.

I believe these have an Alder body, bolt on maple neck & rosewood fretboard. They have 2 passive humbuckers, VVT setup with a push-pull tone knob for series-parallel. Hipshot bridge with string through body & hipshot ultra-lite tuners. Neck dive on these is minimal due to a smaller headstock & where the strap button is positioned.

These aren't made any more so are quite hard to get hold of. I looked around for months before snagging this one on US ebay & shipping it over here. I don't think there would be too many others in Australia.

I'm only selling due to lack of use. I prefer playing my Greco Thunderbird & don't really have any need for another birdish shaped bass. It has a great sound and plays nicely but I've only used it for one gig & just always find myself grabbing one of my other basses first.

No case with this one but I'll make sure I pack it well if you need it shipped.

$1500 + shipping at buyer's expense.

I'm not very good at demoing stuff but our good friend Ed Friedland has done a great review here:

Georgeous- GLWTS!
Tempted but have too many basses.

Ed needs to do his research a bit better- my two RDs have the strap button factory installed on the body at the base of the neck not on the upper horn. Same for my 09 Gibson TBird. Maybe that's why I don't ever understand all the neck dive BS you read about on some forums.

Ed only owned a Gibson for the first time last year, when he bought a Ripper, and liked it so much he added a fretless Ripper as well.

Another error he makes is he infers RDs are neck through- they are set neck. ;)
