Howdy,

I bought a BEF Pro with an attached Hot Hand Wired controller that came free (which was cool). However, I can't get it to work for the life of me! I've read the manual five times, it's in the right input, I've tried calibrating it and every knob is where it should be. Very confused! Any advice?

I had trouble to start with too, but I was an idjit. I was plugged into the HH out instead of in.
Definitely got Hot Hand selected on the Mod Source button?

Will from Source asked if this is happening.

"The next question is if he sees the light blinking properly on the Hot Hand and receiver, and if it stops blinking and lights up steadily when the two ‘connect’ or ‘find’ each other."

Answer from SOURCE AUDIO.

Easy part first: Any expression pedal will do, they should just make sure that the range of the expression pedal is at or above standard.

As for the tone on that Muse song...they will want to make sure to get a good Clean Mix in there first and foremost. For that actual tone, I suggest that they use Singleband Normal #15 with the drive knob at about 70% and a boost on the highs in the EQ. They’ll have to feel the rest out based on the tone of their bass and set up.

I recieved my MWBD PRO today.

The amount of flexibility and options is unbelievable.

So much, I am considering a second one. At the moment I have mine in a loop with a Russian Black Muff and between the 2 with the MWBD EQ setting and programmable presets I have not 6 presets for MUSE settings.

This pedal does it all. I fiddled with heaps of the settings and got tones from Muse tracks to the synth line on Da Funk by Daft Punk, Feel Good Inc by the Gorillaz, SVT tone a la Fleetwood Mac the Chain.

Something that is phenomenal about this pedal is you can use the 7 band EQ and memory to set different EQ settings without distortion.

With the clean boost I got a much fuller and dominate tone from my bass with no other effects.

Basically, I am going to have a loop with this and the Big Muff for my Muse covers and a second one in a separate loop with 3 EQ settings for the Clean boost, Flat, Boosted Mids, Boosted Bass and Treble, and 3 settings for Overdrive.

This pedal is phenomenal!!!

NEW SOURCE AUDIO PROGRAMMABLE EQ!

Image

WOW this pedal is amazing. Completely thought it would be for guitar players but i am swearing by this for my bass playing at gigs.

Here is info and what this puppy can do!

The Source Audio Programmable EQ is a thoroughly modern and highly streamlined upgrade to traditional equalizer pedals. This compact, rugged, cast aluminum stompbox provides quick, hands-free access to four different user programmed EQ settings. Whatever your instrument, playing style, or genre, the Source Audio Programmable EQ is the essential tone-sculpting tool for your live rig.

The Programmable EQ packs plus or minus 18dB of range over seven frequency bands, plus an additional frequency band at 62Hz, accessible via the Octave Extend function. Engaging the Octave Extend systematically optimizes the pedal’s frequency spectrum to accommodate the specific frequency range of the bass. Once you’ve dialed in the desired guitar or bass tone, save it in one of four programmable user presets. Each preset is easily accessible via the hands-free footswitch scrolling function. Simply hold down the footswitch and let the pedal scroll through each preset at an adjustable rate – release to engage. The pedal’s MIDI input also provides remote access to user presets or engages/disengages the effect. Run a MIDI signal from your POD, Eventide Space reverb, TC Nova System or any other MIDI compatible multi-effects unit and vastly expand your tone horizon within each preset.

The Programmable EQ offers a substantial clean boost of up to 12dB. Use the clean boost for an entirely transparent volume increase or go further and give your amp the front-end push needed for an aggressive natural break-up. The relay-based true bypass footswitch provides improved reliability, remote switching capabilities, and a completely unaffected, hard wire signal in bypass mode. As a bonus, the Auto-scrolling function, which automatically scrolls between all four presets at an adjustable rate, creates unique and dramatic effects similar to sequencer or tremolo units.

The pedal runs on a 9V battery (included) or with an optional external power supply.
