TEC AMP.... Soley used by Richard Bona / Gary Grainger ...

Post by jcarruth20 » 27 Feb 2009, 11:11

TEC AMP . .. . . . . . www.tec-amp.com

Tec Amp is a German made product that is really knocking all amp / cab and pedal manufactures around. Thomas started Tec Amp to bring product that works for the bass player. Thomas is a bass player also.

We were introduced to this product at NAMM 2009.

I sold immediately my Ampeg / Edan rigg and now using Tec Amp solely.

So many high status players are solely using Tec Amp. Richard Bona / Gary Grainger / Kevin Walker / Ken Taylor / Marcus Miller / Vashon Johnson . . . . . . . .

Here are the main selling points with Tec Amp;

1. Puma Series Heads - 350 / 500 / 1000 watt - Weigh only 2kg. These monster heads also have switch on back to go between 120 volt and 240 so you can use your head anywhere in the world. The powder is nuts and the sound is amazing. You can tweak these settings to get any sound you want.

2. Cabinets - from the smallest cab to biggest the weight is what sells these. I can lift a 4by10 cab above my head its that light. But the quality of speaker and cabinet has not been lost. They sound amazing also. The selling point is the lightness and the sound.

3. Pleasure Board - If you use in ears and hate the fact that you can not get the bass sound and feel in many ways ripped off having to use them then Tec Amp have brought you the solution. The pleasure board is made to give you the feel of standing right next to a big rigg. You stand on it and can feel EVERY note. If you use in ears then this is a must.

Tec Amp will be landing in Australia mid April and stocks will be going to all shops. Please do the research and you will see it sells itself.

Thanks

Who's importing them and what stores are stocking?

Has Marcus moved on from SWR already? And Richard Bona's endorsements are pretty amusing considering he appears to play a different rig every gig.

Intersting none the less, some of the TB major payers have given positive reviews... Quite expensive though I hear??

They have a few heads and cabs at Bass People in Sydney. I tried the Puma 500W through the 2x12, the 2x10 and the 1x15. The 2x12 is incredibly lightweight, but wasn't very loud/efficient. The 15" sounded nice enough, but the 2x10 seemed to outperform it them all, which is surprising coz I usually prefer 2x12's over 2x10's.

The head is awesome. It if was available when I bought my AI Focus, and if it did 2 ohms, I probably would have bought it. Then again, I feel the same way about the new T.C Electronics head :) There's lots of good sounding lightweight gear out there now, thank Gawd!!!!!

Hey guys, THUMP MUSIC is importing TEC AMP. www.tec-amp.com

Richard is solely using this system now. He has a Puma 1000 and 410 box.

The pricing is not over the top. The Puma 1000 head is $2999 AUD at shops and Cabs vary but are around standard price.

Thump Just Endorsed Dane Alderson a Perth player that plays with SLY and James Morrsison. He loves the head.

Personally i love the Puma 1000 with 2 x 12's its amazing.

Hopefully we'll get a bonafide or 2 in on the next shipment Dan. It's similar to the PUMA 1000, except only 350 a side, not 500 a side, and it has 2 preamp channels, and an included fooswitch, not sure RRP right now, will get back to you on that.

Failing this second shipment, it'll be on the next one.
I'll keep you posted.
