Post by FunkDragon » 01 Dec 2013, 13:50

HI guys,

It's been a bit quiet around the Dominant pages of late. Need some more eye candy / tempting offers! :D

Any news on when the LWA 1000 lands here in Oz?
And also the new 2x10, 1x12 & 4x8 Cab's?

Cheers,
David :)

Cool.
Still loving my TubePath , but would also Iike to p/up something a tad smaller/lighter and easier to move for rehearsal's and gig's with lots of stairs - haha!
Handy to have a smaller looking rig for reception type work too. People sometimes look a little worried when they see big rig's rolling into a room.

Cheers. :)

So I recieved my new WCA 112 LW cab....

VERY happy so far! :partydance:
Had a 4hr jam on Thursday and a 3hr gig last night with it.
Band was a semi-acoustic funky/reggae/bluesy/alternative type vibe - think sunny day beachy type vibe.

It's very responsive to EQ changes, either made from the Bass or the amp. It's nice and light and easy to move around. Good size cab actually, as I didn't want to go too small.
Plenty of bottom end, nice open Mid's and smooth crisp top end. Really liking the new bullet style horns in these new series cab's.
It throws quiet well, and sounds clear and 'open'. Nice organic sounding cab.

I'll upload a tone demo when I get a chance. I couldn't find any online of just the 1x12. All the Demo's I found were the 1x12 and the 4x8 together.

But very impressed so far.
Would highly recommend auditioning one of these if (like me) you're 4x10 is a bit heavy and bulky for some scenario's and you're in the market for a lighter alternative that still has plenty of 'body' to it's tone.

So I used this cab the other night with a louder band - not super loud, just louder than the acoustic band I've been using it with previously.
We jammed on some Rock & Blues songs. Decent volume on the guitar and PA, and the drummer was a fairly soft hitter.

Still VERY impressed with this Cab so far.
It holds it's own, and pumps plenty of clean volume and fullness in a louder setting while still responding very well, even when digging in at volume... ie. no farting / distorting.
Like I said, not super loud but certainly loud enough to give it a bit of a push and see it pass in flying colours.
While it has plenty of bottom end, it is not woofy or muffled. It is very open sounding and tight and responsive.

As I've already said.... Brilliant stand alone Cab... Highly recommended! :yep :partydance:
(although in saying that, I reckon 2 of these together would be awesome!)

Do yourself a favour and try one out if you're in the market for a new Cab that not only sounds fantastic but is very easy to handle / move around. :yep

Here's the tone demo I did for the WCA 112 LW a little while ago...

Will try and do another one at some point with the Cab mic'd up to really show how sweet it sounds. The sound on this one is just the live sound picked up through the camera' built in mic.
