Still working on finishing off this bass. I started the final setup, installed the bridge, tuners, nut, polished the body, with that I was finally ready to line up the dots on the face of the fingerboard, I wanted to make sure the dots were going to be exactly in the centre of the strings.

I created a template on 3mm MDF with the CNC to make sure the dots were all going to be lined up well

The player's side view looks kinda cool :D

Now for the headache bit, this is what I need to fit inside the cavity, 3 preamps, 5 pots, 2 switches 8/ good thing I don't need to fit the batteries there too

Only half done at this point, I've installed the piezo setup which is two preamps and two pots, Bartolini piezo buffer pre with the output going into an Aguilar OBP-2 then volume and output jack. I'm pleased to say it all works. The magnetic pickups and their preamp will be installed next week, I just pray that this will still work when that one is connected to the piezo *cross fingers*

Finished the wiring, what a mess of wires 3 preamps will make in a cavity 8/ let's close this up and hope to never have to see it again, the batteries are in another compartment so let's cross our fingers nothing goes wrong in a year or two. After looking at that mess I decided to provide peter with the 3 sheets of wiring diagram in case someone ever wants to have a look at something in there one day

Nice job Phil.

Maybe I should read all the posts rather than look at the pictures but what is the wood in the heal of the bass? I think I have now answered that question _ Wenge. Is this a new addition to your design? I see this in the foderas and wonder whether it is a design feature or actually impacts on the sound of the instrument.
Also I note single pole on the six string C on a number of basses . Is it appropriate for me to ask here what is the purpose of this configuration?
More questions- the bass hsould have a nice thick low mids with the Mohogany body - what is the redwood burl going to do the sound? Would this bass sound like wenge/ warwicks - only for me to have a refrence point.
cheers Peter
