out of curiosity... how did you and Bill go about ripping down that block for the top laminates?

Bill's a bit of a wiz when it comes to these things and I always learn something from you guys when I read these threads.

Just slice the block against the fence. The saw blade can cut up to 100mm height, the block was about 200mm height, so you set the fence at the thickness you want your slices, in this case 5mm, slice then flip over and slice again and you've got a slice, do that until you sliced the whole block.

I usually buy all my tops on ebay as its easy to look for a top you like with the customer, once you find the one you like you just bid on it or bin. In this case we couldnt find the perfect top so we ended up gettin the block as we both thought it looked fantastic and wouldmake a nice top, it was a lot more expensive then a normal top costs but i knew i'd get 3 or 4 tops out of it so it made sense for inthe long run.

Very nice, the gold H/W is a nice fit for this. I like the veneer. Congrats Matt.

The hardware is actually all black, the gold bridge on the picture belongs to the fretless DCO, I needed it to measure up the pickup routs, hence why its on the pic, Matt's hardware hasn't it arrived yet, I'm prayin' Hipshot doesn't disapoint me, its gotta be here by the 7th at the latest *cross fingers icon* :D
