I'd probably lose the spalted covers on the back though, (personal taste).
I dig them... I find them interesting...

Top work, Phil. She's a beaut!

Phil,

Thanks so much for making this instrument it is a work of art! The finish is superb and the spalt ash top looks like polished stone, it is amazing. Once I got it home and started playing it, I realised that it worked excactly as envisaged and everything 'feels right'.

I feel very fortunate that you took this job on and for the time and effort you put into making it a reality. You make fantastic instruments and this guitar is a whole new world for me. It is a complete night and day difference to any other instrument I've played.

I must also thank Michael Slotboom of Armadillo Guitar TX (http://www.armadilloguitar.com/main/) for making the custom brass bridge, tone block and knobs they match the instrument really well.

Pete Biltoft of Vintage Vibe Guitar (http://www.vintagevibeguitars.com/) has made some fantastic custom P90 pickups with large adjustable height polepieces and supplied the volume, tone pots and 4 way rotary pickup selector.

It was great to meet and talk with everyone at the bass event yesterday.

Regards,
Chris Earle

Hi Everyone,

I would like to say a big thankyou to Matt Bulluss of Salt Mine Repair. After Phil's fantastic efforts in constructing this beautiful Baritone instrument, Matt was able to set up the instrument so it plays for me perfectly. This was a difficult assignment because it is a completely custom instrument that is neither a guitar nor a bass. The size and dimensions of it are unique and this required a great deal of insight and technical skill to set up correctly.

The next job Matt will be completing for me is converting my custom set neck Mahogany Stratocaster into a 5 string open E tuned instrument, this involves installing a custom made full width 5 string bridge, tone block and custom pickguard assembly, as well as fret replacement and dress, plus a full set up. Matt's knowledge, open minded attitude and enthusiasm for his job makes me confident to say that he would be able to set up any stringed instrument!

Matt's contact details are: (02) 9356 4164 info@saltminerepair.com.au Suite 5/103-105 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Great to see Matt has gone out on his own after building such a good fan base during his time at Bass People. I agree, he's awesome.
