Thanks, Mike

Your work is beautiful Phil.

I've pretty much decided my next bass is going to be a custom Mailloux.

:D

When I have some money saved up for this project I'm going to be in touch!

This thing is wild!!
I love your custom made case too!

What sort of bit do you use to cut the foam in your CNC? Is it a hot wire cutter or something?

There's a local guy here who custom cuts foam with a laser jig of some sore but it costs a pretty penny.

I've just been given an awesome heavy-duty flight case from the '70's. It weighs a ton but is really well built. The only problem is that all the foam inside has completly perished so I need cut a new bit somewhere. I'm trying to work out how I can do it cheaply. Unfotunately I don't think building my own CNC would be a cheap way of doing it

The bit is a spiral wood cutting bit. I did a test run to make sure it would work before cutting the shape of the bass in the foam. The final result is still not at nice as I'd like it to be but it does the job.

Building a cnc is definitely not cheap and it's also a major headache, once it's done it needs a whole lot of tweaking to get it to work properly and no one's out there to help you out, you're on your own. It's always a major chore whenever I need to use it to cut something.
