Sounds great, pared back sound and voice quality remind me a bit of Lamb. Great stuff!

Wow, that's a HUGE jazz bass tone mate....

Great thread! So good to hear all the different approaches, tones, styles. Congrats to everyone out there gigging, being creative, having a go...

Not really a band, or an original, but here's a vid I put together last week. I'm playing an odd little junk bass that was given to me instead of being thrown out. I spent a day or two fixing her up, and after recording it with a mic on the F hole, I love it. I'll refret it in the next few weeks as the board needs a bit of leveling...

That still for the youtube vid is terrifying. Like his soul is trying to escape from his mouth.

Side chain compression on kick with extreme predjudice! I like his drunk drumming, very D'Angelo. Bass is overplaying a touch, particularly where there are vocals, but very nice otherwise. The vocals are kinda ruining it for me and are a good example of just because you can doesn't mean you should. That's probably pretty harsh, but ah well.

Here's a clip from my band Pickpocket www.pickpocketfunk.com playing at the Bell Street Fiesta in Torquay. The tune is written by long time Marcus Miller drummer Poogie Bell and is a fun one for jamming on!

Hey guys,

Plenty happening for my band BB Factory at the moment. We were #1 on the iTunes Blues Charts for about 24 hours on the 3rd November (probably because of pre-sales) :D and seem to be getting some air play around the place. We are finishing recording an album, officially released the first single "Save Me" on Friday 3rd November. Personally really happy with the finished product and looking forward to finishing the album.

Obviously we've been recording but also doing magazine photo shoots and interviews and have a nice little run of gigs around South East Queensland this month culminating in a support show for Hammond Mad Man Lachy Doley at the Sound Lounge at Currumbin.

All recording done at Clockwork Studios Ashmore, mastered by Paul Blakey at 12th & Vine, video by Pedro.

Gold Coast based music magazine Blank GC did an article on us releasing the single and had an exclusive release of the single and video -
