Bet that title got your attention.
My Monique Preamp needed a darker tone. It matches my playing which is a bit wooden too.
Seriously though. Saw this on Talkbass and wanted a bamboo cover originally but couldn't come at the extra cost back then. This 2nd hand one was half price, almost pristine and I think it looks damn sexy!

No I don't have two. Sorry if I misled you but I just changed up the Dovecage cover for the Bamboo one. Two would be silly, especially with the amount of playing I am doing these days.

Yes it was. Came from Germany, paid in US dollars and came across in just over a week. No issues with customs or DHL.

Looks great Blaine.. The carry handle at the top must make it easier to cart around too.

Nice one, Blaine.
Of course your playing will be less wooden once you finish that stainless steel fingerboard beauty

.

Get the wife's present out of the way and I am back into it. Sitting at home tonight nursing a cold. It'll probably develop into Man Flu and kill me before the nights out.

That bamboo enclosue looks even better in person, can't see any of the grain in the photo.
Very nice Blaine, it's still my favourite sounding bass preamp

Looks great! Did someone sell just the bamboo shell without the Monique? What are you going to do with the dovecage?

Yes they did and it's just sitting in the cupboard right now. Would you like it?
To make the conversion you remove the dove cage handles, exchange the baseplate and put a large bolt through the body to hold it in place. I also had to remove the two brackets holding the back plate on the bamboo to slide it in, which were not mentioned in the instructions but I think the aussie transformer might be bigger than the US one. The handles were the hardest thing to do because Jule puts them on and then wires up Monique so they are tight and awkward to get too, but not impossible obviously.
