https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SWR-Golight ... SwdTJaXBQ7

The quite rare sealed version of the 24kg-or-so golight quad.

When we tested one of these for bassnerds a few years back, it was a very tidy sounding quad.

I saw it on eBay when it sold some time ago, so that part of the story checks out. Same story about weight reduction for a female player (obviously never thought of the "Greg method".
I think it is probably largely what it claims to be.

I was trying to work out what the Greg method was, but just got it. You couldn't take much weight out with the teardrop guard. Not enough area underneath. The Sabre has a much bigger guard.

The neck and neck plate look legit. Impossible to say with the rest of it. The boomerang control plate doesn't appear to be original and shouldn't overlap the pick guard. Considering it's covering a control rout, I don't think you could move it, so that doesn't look right. The original bridge would have been string through body. No shot of the back.

Considering the only things that are original and stock, are the neck and neck plate, I'd guess the rest was made to fit.

A B00 neck is easily worth well above $500, so at the asking price of $1000 you just need to add up the other parts and do the maths. If it's a good player $1000 is probably a fair price if you can live with the visual mods.

If it had the original pickup and was finished natural or burst I'd be interested. No time for projects at the moment though.

Cheap deal on a Ray 35 in Brisbane. I would check it out if I didn't just buy a bass.
