I was thinking I could probably pick up a decent Ray for $1500-$1600. I'm after a natural, single H with maple board. I'm in no hurry anyway (gotta sell some unused stuff first) but thought this ticks all the boxes but price is a little more than I want to spend (even if it is worth it)
There's one for sale here that I'd pick up if I had the cash.
Second that one, light weight and all stingray.

What's the thoughts on this?

I've been thinking about getting a Stingray but I don't know if I really care enough about it being "vintage" to pay the extra $$. Still I think this price is fairly reasonable for what it is....
If you haven't already, I really recommend trying a 2-band slab body Stingray before speculating. They really are an entirely different beast to what many people tend to think of as a Stingray. They sound completely different (fantastic IMO but definitely different) to the 3 bands, and some (not all) of the slab bodies are total boat anchors.

Apologies and "as you were" if you already know all this :)

I always thought being born in '68 kept me out of the whole 'birth year bass' game, but that is quite cool. Fortunately the price means I wouldn't even consider it.

Basses: Fender - Rob Allen - Tobias - Duesenberg

They are hefty necks on these.
I guess the big price tag is in reference to how few of these originals are out there.

It is in fabulous condition - no lifting of the wallpaper layer at all. But, yes, the price is hard to justify compared to what I paid for my Nash

Rolling Stoned | The Volts | Doors Alive | Bonza | The Vinyl Beats

Basses: Nash, Fender, Ampeg, Cataldo, Duesenberg, Greco, Ibanez
Rig: Fender, Ampeg, PJB

Endorsing artist: Fender; Cave Passive Pedals
