Ok I've found a Yamaha BB1025x, this is pretty difficult to come across these days in Oz. I had to import mine after missing out when this seller had it at $999. It is brand new and shipping is $150. I piked on it and regretted it, eventually got mine off talkbass, had a nervous wait cos of CITES. It's back up at $899....

That shipping quote must set by the seller? I could probably drive down and pick it up for $150 8| 8|
Just had a look at the listing - the $150 is a hardcase plus a courier.
Yeah, I baulked at that originally when it was posted earlier this year :banghead: Of course I ended paying more than that to ship from the US.

I wouldn't part with my bb for under $1000, not a chance, this is 1050 with a hardcase shipped... that's a good deal

I saw that, even if the build of the cabs is rubbish, components and hardware are probably worth that much.

Good point.

How heavy would these cabs be?
I thought about a 12/6/1" cab for acoustic/jazz/DB gigs, but I decided I didn't want anything heavier than my 16kg Baer ML112.

I reckon if you chucked them a random offer of say, $2999.00, they might just take it. ;)

I noticed that too. Postage would have put it out of reach of most buyers at this price point.

I assume the price is a mistake? I have no knowledge of the brand. Or is it one of those things where you put an insanely high price on one item, so everything else they sell looks like a bargain?

At the bottom of the ad.
"Be4FM Elite normal Recommended Retail Price (RRP) AU$4,299.00 inc GST"

Clearly they meant, 2,999.00 They missed the decimal when they added the cents portion in.

I like Antigua as a Fender colour.
There are two late 70 Antigua P Basses on eBay at present- one is ridiculous at over $4K (replacement black pickguard BTW) and this one with the worlds biggest bridge.
I have been watching this one for a while. It has been on for ages at this price. I decided to ask some questions because the listing tells you nothing. There is only one pic. The seller has very little feedback. Several red flags. The bass is obviously not all original and these guys can tend to be pretty heavy even without the addition of extra brass. The bass is not cheap for what it is and it's level of originality and weight would be a factor in deciding whether it was even close to worth buying. At the very least I would be up for a new bridge (vintage about $150) before we look at the need to replace electronics. The broken pickguard would be virtually irreplaceable with an original one .

My questions
Can I ask a few questions, please?
Is the case original? Is it included in the sale? Are the pickup and bridge covers still with the bass? Is the original bridge still with the bass? How much does the bass weigh? Are the pickups and other electronics original? Is the neck in good condition ie does the truss rod work? Are the frets worn? Is the neck straight, no warps or twists? Does it setup with a low action? How high is the string off the fret at the 12th fret?
Are you definite about pickup only?
Thanks for your time.
The response.
The neck is straight, if you want to get a courier its up to you. the 12th fret is 4mm approx. the bass is as it is. IT'S VERY HEAVY i WOULD HAVE TO GET BACK TO YOU ABOUT THE CORRECT WEIGHT. It comes with the original case.
I thought I would post in case anyone else is thinking about this one.
I suspect you would need to inspect in person to get any real idea of what is actually for sale here.
Happiness is .......a Telebass and 500W.

Be aware of a cheap StingRay for sale on Gumtree. It's clearly a fake, really cheap but advertised as Made in USA. Serial no#: E22554. The actual bass this serial number belongs to is a 5er. There are also 2 others that I've found with the same serial number on Ernie Ball website that are fakes. I have also seen a photo of a green one with the same serial. The builder of these must have made a number of neck plates with the same number and installed them on all his creations.
