Slow but steady.

Dots are in and ready for sanding:

Managed to spend a few hours at the MSGM workshop this morning to do some "fretting" :? .

A picture tells a thousand words IMO...so here are a few progress shots:

And I love the way the headstock has turned out.......it's almost a shame to paint it.

Nice work. And with the headstock looking nice, pivot! If you like it adapt the design.
Strings: Fender, Framus, Warwick, Custom
Knobs: Mesa, MarkBass, Fender
Patch: TC Electronic, Aguilar, too many to list

Thanks Nick, yes.....sometimes you do need to adapt and go with the flow. We shall see.

Thanks Michael, it was really good to catch up with you today. Your builds are just getting better and better, definitely something for us mere mortals to aspire to :yep

You certainly looked like you were getting a good workout today....sanding, sanding and more sanding

Definitely a labour of love.

Ha ha Michael I know you don't have a lot of love for traditional Fender shapes but using the carcass of a Fender headstock to clamp down your new build is taking it to new levels! Jokes of course!

Obviously SOMEONE didn't appreciate the functionality so I'm just trying to point out that these headstocks (would have preferred a P, tbh) are useful for SOMETHING.

Joke, of course, didn't even notice.

Back on topic: put your logo on it, Ivan, and leave it natural. Looks great as is.

Regards,
Michael

just a quick update of where things are at.

Rounding the back of the neck is coming along nicely:

Sketching out the pickguard shape and control cavity route...........what do you know, it's starting to look like a bass :yep

Beautiful body did you design it or copied from a boutique builder? Seems reminiscent of F basses.

No, it's definitely not my design. Would be pretty amazing if it was given this is my first ever build

Its just an F bass/Fodera/Dingwall/AC Guitars design......but mainly F Bass inspired as far as the shape goes.

There's a saying that goes......Imitate then innovate. I'm only at the first stage of that right now.....just a beginner, learning the basics and enjoying the journey.

I must have missed that memo ... 8|

My philosophy is more along the lines of making it as hard as humanly possible
