It depends entirely on the photo service you choose as to whether they supply that or not. All that we're doing here is displaying the (supported) content in a post better :)

The old photobucket way will continue to work, until you reach whatever quota they've set for 3rd party site embedding.
If you use it infrequently, you'll be fine - if you use it frequently, and across many forums (as many guys here do) then you'll not be having a good time :(

Is there anyway of inserting from Instagram with JUST the pic and not all the other fluff, links to my Instagram, etc?

In short, no - instagram doesn't do "direct linking" to the images via the plugin that we are using.

If you want to do direct linking, you'll need to use a service that offers that explicitly (flickr, imgur, tinypic do in their free tiers, personally I use smugmug but it's a paid service)
