Ida Nielsen (Prince) and Holger Stonjek Clinic this week!

Post by sandberg » 18 Oct 2016, 13:36

A not-to-be-missed event tailored for the Bass Guitar aficionado

World renown Sandberg Bass Guitars present a unique opportunity to attend a bass guitar clinic featuring Ida Nielsen (aka Bassida) long time member of the late Princes's band. Ida will be joined by Sandberg founder Holger Stonjeck as they jam their way through Ida’s favourite songs.

As further colour to the event Ida will take time to discuss her unique technique and talk about her work with Prince. Holdger will also demonstrate the different Trussrod system and many other interesting parts that define Sandberg Guitars and offer a deep insight into the Sandberg World while also explaining in detail the different sounds, woods, pickups and setups and how each element of the guitar impact each other.

Proudly supported by TC Electronic

There is also an opportunity for Q&A and the end of the event. Tickets are strictly limited.

Was fun yesterday afternoon.

Had Ida and Holger sign "Sandi", and I think that'll be retirement.

I took a few pics, will put them up later.

Couple of shots from yesterday's Sandberg Guitars / Sandberg Guitars Australia clinic, sponsored by the Bass Centre.

Ida Nielsen was so generous with her time, answering plenty of qs about working with Prince, her effects set-up, her "sound" preferences, anything really.
Holger talked about Sandberg (30 years - wow). I had a chat with him before the show (met him about 2 years ago at the Bass Centre), talked about building, and he commented positively about my current builds. Encouraging :D .

Good one Michael. I get the feeling that both Holger and Ida are both really nice people, certainly deserving of all their success. I would have liked to be there but had to take my daughter to her VCE music performance exam. Looks like you had a great afternoon

Totally down to earth, both of them. Would highly recommend to anyone in Sydney to go to tonight's event.

I hear Karla did well :) .

Definitely, anyone in Sydney should definitely go to this event. These guys have travelled such a long way to be here.......take the opportunity if at all you can.

Karla was in good spirits and in good health so think she will do really well. Now for the other subjects....physics, biology, maths and english.

Holger mentioned how impressed he was with the turnout in Newcastle.

Great pics. Ida's pick guard apparently is a piece of black and gold fabric between two acrylic plates. Holger's 6er looks pretty amazing in real life (it's REALLY red). Not sure why he has a reference to a German WW2 aircraft on there (Stuka refers to dive-bombing planes, "Sturzkampfflugzeug" in German) but it's his bass, of course.

Holger loves his timber :) .

Michael

Considering how hard they push the "vintage" approach, I totally agree :)

I would have liked to stay longer at the Newcastle event but had to leave. The show was impressive and I would have liked to play some of the instruments.
