Forum Upgrade

Post by Phil » 12 Oct 2015, 13:30

The forum has just been upgraded to the newest forum software. Phpbb went from version 3.0.x to 3.1.x sometime ago. The older version isn't compatible with the newer version so some functionality of the forum may be different and most old mods are likely not working anymore. I'll work on fixing whatever pops up for the next few days. In the meantime please let me know if you see something on the forum that is different/needs fixing.

Hey Phil,
If you need/want any assistance, I should have a little time during evenings over the next week.

The most important one I can see missing is the donation link -

And the banner at the top of the screen has shrunk.

Hi Phil,

It doesn't look like the RSS feed works anymore.

rss.php

Cheers,

Adam

Thanks Cleary, I'll pm you if I run into trouble

Ok, the logo, adsense and donate buttons are all back.

Phpbb 3.1.X doesn't support RSS feed anymore but support instead Atom feeds. I've enabled the Atom feeds on the admin panel. Let me know if that works for you Adam (I personally have no idea how this works...)

I've installed the latest version of the Tapatalk plug-in and emailed them, I believe we're just waiting for them to "publish" the forum again to be able to get the access on the app.

Let me know if there's any other hiccups or missing important functions of the forum and I'll try to get that done in the next day or two.

Maybe PHP needs more memory.

It seems to be running very slowly to me.. I'll click on a topic and it may take 20-30 seconds to open.

I deleted a couple of things that were slowing the processes/cpu/memory usage and have got a support ticket in with the webhost, hopefully the speed issue will be fixed soon
