Re: What have you PLAYED on bass today?

I put the media player onto a large, constructive playlist and played over/along/improv for a couple of hours . . nothing too strenuous , but really got the brain and fingers in sync now . . . and its only 9.15 AM . . lol . . after a break , I'll start to ramp it up with some slap drills and i'll tr...

Re: Could a Stingray 4H acheive this tone (warning...Kiss content!)?

no problem . . but an EB Stingray with an Ash Body (not poplar) is ideally suited to this . . with some eq tweaking (as was done on this tune), and it should get very close , if not nail it. . Re: PJ electronics/wiring opinions wanted

Re: A Whinge about us

It seems I'm right . . . not a word on superior tone , performance etc . . . just the weight thing again . And I do appreciate the weight is greater (I may have accidentally phrased it as a few kilos ) but it wont sway me , even approaching 60 y.o. and with more than my fair share of injuries etc (b...

Re: Recording Bass

I agree with the Reacomp plugin suggestion . . . Play around with it for a while , and you will get to hear the effect that too much compression gives, and then aim for a "sweet spot", that works for what you want, if possible. also I try not to have too much bass in play when recording onto Reaper ...

Re: Jazz/Reading musical notation in Newcastle/Hunter

I have literally dozens and dozens of ebooks . . you can have any or all of them, if you like . . .
some of them specifically deal with sight reading, if that helps with the practice . . .
let me know . . I can email them to you
cheers

A Whinge about us

Just responding to some comments made in a thread here , but I thought I should start a new one , rather than take this thread to Cuba . . lol ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, There seems a trend among bass players these days to judge amps by their we...

An interesting pickup switching development for Bass .

I'm only brand new here, so my apologies if this is a worn out subject . . . I saw some interesting pickups demonstrated and explained a few months back , that I thought were a real step forward in pickup configurations and switching flexibility for the humble Bass. . . . and I have seen or heard no...
