Re: 2018 iPhone killers?

Hard to battle "update fever" but I think I'm succeeding. Maybe I'll buy me that Strymon Deco instead.

Re: 2018 iPhone killers?

Just an update. At the moment I'm very seriously considering just keeping the S7. Very tempted by the S9+, but it doesn't seem to be enough of a step up. Being objective, the S7 camera is "good enough", and how fast do you need a phone to be? I've never wished the processor was faster.

2018 iPhone killers?

Every couple of years I ask this same question when my current phone contract comes to an end and I start looking for a new one. My criteria are: decent camera (I have a DSLR camera, but as they say the best camera is the one you have with you at the time) must take a memory card, and headphone outp...

EHX Platform compressor?

Anybody used the EHX Platform? I've been looking for a pedal compressor with switchable hard/soft knee and a ratio that goes up to full limiting I was thinking of rhe Keeley Pro but it's a bit beyond my budget. The other stuff it does, Drive and Swell, is nice but certainly not essential.

Why did I stop playing this Bass?

I'm sure many of us have a Bass that for whatever reason (or even no reason) we haven't played for a while, and when we drag it out we wonder why the heck we stopped using it. I have a couple, and the reason is usually the sexy new Bass we got that became a habit. Last Sunday I dragged out my old Fr...

Ended up getting Mobile sheets. Great to be able to display two pages side by side.

Is there anyway of inserting from Instagram with JUST the pic and not all the other fluff, links to my Instagram, etc?

Re: Show us your gigs.

A couple of weeks ago at the Ellington, in Perth. Performed Clapton’s 461 Ocean Boulevard album in it’s entirety, then a set of other songs associated with Clapton. Full house - not bad for a Monday night.

That’s Bill Blissett on Keys.

Vale Fats Domino.

Just heard Fats Domino has passed. He is the musician that really got me started. Yeah I was the weird kid in 1st year high school that was diggin' seriously on the music of a black piano player from New Orleans.

What "easy" songs are busting your chops?

I’m charting out the Carole King song Smackwater Jack at the moment. It’s straightforward, but a couple of the runs are busting my 'nads. Not the actual notes, but getting them smooth and sitting in the song. I’ll get them, it’s just a matter of over 'n' over 'n' over... Just idle curiosity - any of...

I've got a Fralin 10% overwound split coil in my '54 reissue and it thumps nicely.

Re: Android software for sheet music, lyrics, etc.

MobileSheets looks like definite contender. I've downloaded the free version and had a bit of a play. I'll give it a bit more of a look later tonight.
