Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Well he just copped a peach from Starc. No one would have been able to play that! Did it hit a crack? Because if it didn't, that's the biggest leg cutter I've ever seen.

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Mitch Marsh's front foot shots have been amazing! He's much better to watch that his brother. He's just made his maiden test 100. He's looked really good!

Re: Who uses a sealed 410?

Great post Gobi, especially since most of what you read online is from bassists who don't gig much in a never ending chase for more bottom end. It's an odyssey that can go on for years before reality bites and the problems you spoke about are acknowledged. It's refreshing that Ozzbass for that most ...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Was a good innings though from Uzzi. He basically played a sheet-anchor support role to allow Smith to push a bit harder. It's a very old fashioned way of batting, but it's very effective because it's hard to bowl to 2 guys who are playing the game so differently.

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Smiffy is an anathema. Quality bowlers can usually bring you unstuck if your footwork is deficient. But that's not a problem for Smith. In fact it seems to make him harder to bowl to as he has no identifiable weakness. You kinda need him to get himself out....... Oh dear, as I type, Joe Root at 2nd ...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

I don't know what I enjoyed more - Eng losing 2 quick wickets just now, or the Specsavers ad with the avocado... :D :D :D

Edit, 4 quick wickets.

Edit again, 6 quick wickets. All out for 403. Mark your 100 run prediction was spot on.

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Depends how the pitch holds up. Places like the WACA and Adelaide seem to produce big first innings totals, but also usually produce a result because batting gets harder and harder add the match progresses. Full marks to Malan and Bairstow. Gritty batting and a decent scoring rate. But catches win m...

Looks like Stoneman has been given on review off the back glove with it off the handle of the bat.
Hey I was serving customers so I missed the aftermath. What happened with Joe Root & the English dressing room?

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

^ Brutal bouncer! Hit him above the ear. The impact sent the "Hughes Pads" flying off the back of the helmet and if you look closely, the grill has broken the skin on his jaw. He's ok though. Very next ball was an EXACT replica. Great bowling from Hazealwood! Stoneman pooed his pants, managed to get...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

So Mitch Marsh is playing. And he's just dropped a sitter at 1st slip................... Honestly, there's some very basic concepts in cricket that don't seem to apply to some of the younger players. If you're at slip, and the ball is coming to you waist high, why would anyone try to catch it with f...

Re: Who uses a sealed 410?

The graphs confirm what I heard with my ears on the day. The sealed cab was definitely less efficient, was "tighter" in the bottoms. That same level of 'tightness' could be realized from the ported cab by reducing the bass EQ, which is also advantageous in that it reduces power demand on the amp an...

Re: FS Tomsline Mini Tuner & Bass Limiter

Fwiw, a quick hack for tuning a low B on a tuner that can't handle it. Don't play the open B string, play the 12 fret harmonic instead. Works every time.

Re: Who uses a sealed 410?

Well the cabs I referred to before were SWR Golite cabs from several years ago (Hi David1234). I'm not sure they are the exact same drivers in each cab. They looked the same but that means nothing, only SWR would know for sure. 1) The Mustard coloured line is the ported 410. 2) The Green line is the...
