Re: TC Electronics RH450 that won't power up

Fuses inside are a thing unfortunately. Many years ago I borrowed a Marshall bass head while my Labsystems amp was getting fixed. It wasn't great but it was getting me out of trouble .... Until one day it went "Bang". Not only was the internal fuse blown, the shrapnel also took out several nearby co...

Re: Tube Amps

What does a Tube amp and seafood have in common? Everyone else seems to absolutely love it, people can't seem to fathom that I don't like it at all, as such I've tried very hard to like it because maybe it's an acquired taste? All to no avail .... Just not my thing!

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

I'm too lazy to go back and find it, but when the talk of a banking royal commission first started, I predicted the axe would fall in the Financial Planning sector. Was I right, or was I right? So glad I got out. And I hope all those nasty people I was working for are heavily impacted by whatever co...

Re: Can a faulty lead "Scream"? EDIT- no it can't. Preamp Problem.

OK I think I've gotten to the bottom of it. Scrap that! It did it again during sound check last night. I've taken it to the local music shop this morning. They have a tech who's comes in once a week and is spoken about very highly by all the local musicians, so let's see if he can figure it out. I'...

Re: WTB 5 pot preamp for my bass

My suggestion would be to keep an eye on the Talkbass classifieds. I was looking for the exact same thing recently, and found they pop up fairly regularly over there. They're small enough to send in the mail for not a lot of money. I scored an EMG pre for only $150 shipped. It completely transformed...

Keyboard repairs in Qld

I have a friend who's Nord keyboard is busted. Without it, he is screwed. No gigs, no teaching, nothing. He's distraught, and I'm quite upset to see him so upset.

Who are the people in QLD who could fix this?

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

For all this talk about the new media deal, nothing has been said about what is going to happen with the online streaming? I assume Cricket Australia is going to continue offering it through the app. But in order to broadcast all international games, but wouldn't that involve borrowing the coverage ...

Re: The JMJ has landed - initial verdict

So JMJ isn't the pickup configuration like I first thought. It's just the initials of someone famous looking for another dribble of passive income. I wouldn't have even clicked on this thread if I'd known ..... I'm not surprised it was a disappointment. There's sorts of things usually are.

Re: Tweeter Swap Aguilar DB112

If you do it the right way, there's no reason why I can't be done. First thing you'd need to do is figure out which tweeter Epifani used in whatever cab's you've got. Then you need to figure out if it has the same nominal impedance as the tweeter you want to replace. If it has, we are still in busin...

Recommend a good multi-guitar stand

The ones I get from eBay aren't good enough. The little bit that holds the necks in place are too flimsy. One bump and they snap off.

Needs to hold at least 5 electric basses. What's your recommendation? Or perhaps you are offloading one?

How did the U-bass cope with drop-D tuning?
Ha, I didn't bother with that ....... the audience didn't mind :p
