Re: Backline hire Tweed Heads

Re: Guitar sound with pedals

The discontinued Akai Unibass is another option - you can select an upper 5th or a lower 4th to be added, and you can dial up the crunch as well for a good approximation of rhythm power chords

Re: How is this GST for overseas items under 1k going to work ?

^ Point not lost on me. I bought a kindle book through US Amazon today. The sale is still pending 6 hours later (pretty unusual in my experience). It didn't divert me to Aus Amazon or whatever. Hope this is not the shape of things to come. That seems strange - did you buy it on the website or throu...

Re: Amp for Country?

Once you have the country amp sorted, you'll then need to add a Stingray 5 to the collection. Last time I checked, Stingrays are not Thunderbird shaped. Well, if you're worried that your amp isn't suited to playing country music, then the mid-heavy Thunderbird tone wouldn't suit either. Just trying...

Re: Amp for Country?

The Bassman 500 that is currently for sale on the forum will do the trick nicely, and looks great as well. Only 7kg, and does nice fat and warm clean (perfect for country) as well as gritty on the footswitchable second channel. One of these has been my main amp for around 3 years now http://ozbassfo...

1. Try replacing the preamp valves with lower gain versions. Even just a 12AT7 in V1 should make a difference; personally I'd go with a 12AU7 in V1 & a 12AT7 in V2.
That worked for me when I found my Traynor was getting too dirty too early.

Re: How is this GST for overseas items under 1k going to work ?

I am a kindle user myself but there is something wrong when an electronic book is sold for more than the paper one. Also something wrong when you can't legally sell or transfer your ebook but every town has several stores to facilitate second hand books Same argument for CDs vs digital downloads I ...

Re: How is this GST for overseas items under 1k going to work ?

I buy my ebooks for my Kindle from US Amazon currently. I will be fascinated to see how quickly new titles go on the Oz Amazon when I use it the first time and what they cost. I don't really care about the GST, I f the service is worse I will be p!ssed. Russ, have you considered signing up for Amaz...

Re: How is this GST for overseas items under 1k going to work ?

Amazon's stated reason are a smokescreen. Amazon already handles different sales taxes in 47 US states and copes with VAT charged on sales from the US to the UK. The could do something for sales to Aust if they put their minds to it. Blaming to Govt alone on this oversimplifies the problem this tim...
