For ozrider's cartoon - I haven't read anything (additional) about Nauru. Abuse of children should be investigated and justice applied.
That was certainly what was going to happen once our wonderful government made reporting of such illegal.

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

Actually, the security people have been dealing with them and their companies being shunned for their involvement in illegal concentration camps. They are about the only people not getting away with this horror, so I don't buy their lack of a motive in painting things like this.

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

The point is that these are guards running illegal offshore detention camps who were caught out soliciting sex from their capitives and who are part of a long-running attempt to conceal what's happening (see the denials that there were any children in the camps being slowly walked back) The fact tha...

Re: Advice on Qantas Frequent Flyer points...

If you have a qantas freqeuent flyer account, you can log in and then look at the booking interface to see what sort of points availability the flights have and how many points they cost. In my experience, points flights tend to be thinner on the ground for popular destinations, so you'll need to bo...

Didn't mention it specifically, but did say they saw/heard how the transferees paid locals for such services.
The guards controlled all food and stuff in the camp and this wasn't the locals who were involved.

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

And did the Manus days book report the prostitution ring set up the subcontracted guards who ran the camp, or did it only talk about how awful the refugees were so the guards felt better?

An inkling I wanted to push a large cab harder and saw an opportunity. Not casting any shade at the 350.

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

Hmm this is what happens when we let Malcolm and Donald play together. http://junkee.com/trump-border-australia/163907 Horrifying as the current Australian policy is, it's closer to the trump-backs-down order from today, than the thousands of children are sent away and nobody knows where of last we...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

Of course, but I think if you identify as Australian then you should support your athletes on the world stage, not just go for one of the top teams. Don't get me wrong, if Scotland ever manage to qualify for another world cup I'll be cheering on the boys in blue!! That sort of nationalism is unhelp...
