Re: Custom Made Bass Electronics

"Maybe offer one at 40Hz and another at 80Hz? Then do something similar for mid and treble frequencies."

Warmouth neck "support" rods

I have a spare bass that has a neck made by Warmouth. The bass had a "slight" issue when I bought it , in that the fingerboard was no longer attached for about 1/3 of its length. I removed and reglued it, but I dd notice the support rods that warmouth put in their "Super Bass" construction. These ar...

Any EMG pickups would fix this whole issue.
I guess that would be ok, if I wanted that EMG sound . . but if someone wanted to retain the sound they already had , this way saves buying more pickups.

Re: Sire v7 5 String string balance fix - if you're game

Yep . thats good thinking . . . lol. you know, I emailed a lot of companies and asked if they did radiused or raised poles and got 1 x Nordstrand ('70's or '60's), 1 x fralin. 2 x Delano and Bartolini said they would be able to do something. That might seem like a lot of options , but I emailed ever...

Sire v7 5 String string balance fix - if you're game

This is apparently old news , but it was news to me. It applies to not only Sire v7's (5 string), but any J type bass that has a string to string audio balance issue (mostly G and B strings) Due to the fairly tight 7.5" fretboard radius on the Sire and the dead flat singl;e coil pickups my bass had ...

Re: Stingray style pickups and 2 band preamp clone.

Most interesting.. Why did you go the Delano rather than Mojotones own MM pickup ? Good question . . . ummm . . would you believe that I wasnt aware they made a pickup to suit, untill a bit later on , and by then it was a bit late . . . I guess, also , I've been impressed by the Delano pickups i've...

Re: NAD - Trace Elliot V8

hate to be a downer, but I bought one of these V8's new, when they first came out. It literally broke down first night , and (when it wasnt being repaired) , nearly every time I used it for about 5 months . After that , I couldnt stand it anymore. . I got rid of it. But reliability aside , at the ti...

Stingray style pickups and 2 band preamp clone.

I bought a "Made in USA" MM SUB 4 string a while back. Just as a spare, really , but it really surpruised me how good it was to play , and its basic sound was right on the money , although it was passive , and needed a bit more grunt , I thought. SO, I decided to buy the following - Mojo tone MM sty...

Re: Sire V7 5 string Bass as new Marcus Miller signed

He's not wrong about the tight B string, by the way . . . By far the best I've played . You can even slap it, and it stkll sounds musical and focused Sorry to nitpick about that one mm difference. I do know players that would make a difference to, so I mentioned it . And I bought mine under the mist...

Re: Bass neck repair problem - any suggestions?

Piers Crocker did not want to touch it . . he was the first person I called . . . . I completely understand the instability , and the cause was me taking a fall on stage that had me waking in the ER of a hospital . . so thats what started the rot . . but there's good news . . Da Kallaway , the hero ...
