Re: Cricket 2017/2018

So apparently, If Scorchers get a home final, they're not allowed more than 40k in a 60k stadium, due to public transport to the venue during peak hour unlikely to cope well? WTF? Isn't that just snowflake politics? Surely people sort themselves out? I reckon it's just spin to excuse the poor crowd...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Alex Carey 100 in 54 balls for Adelaide Strikers tonight, with 22 runs in one over. Great to watch. Hmm, T20 hey? Well at least they've stopped picking players for the test team based on their BBL form ....... LOL yeah, I agree with ya - altho to play Devils' Advocate, they did find a good 'un in D...

Re: Post your Effects setup! (boards, racks, doowhackeys)

It's funny you say it's in between the Whammy, TWA GD2.0 & the Hog2. I have exactly the same conundrum after owning all 3 at the same time.
So far I can't make up my mind... the GD is fantastic though.

https://i.imgur.com/ncSSGE5.jpg This is what addicition looks like. :p  Do the lights in your house dim when you power it up? :D Some seriously nice choices there - but even tho you've got 3 boards - no Hog2? Don't like it? (or too big? :ninja: ) I'm kinda keen to try out the elephant skin. Is...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

...... if they were given as many chances as Shaun Marsh. The preferential treatment he's received because of his dad is actually quite disgusting. He's been dropped fewer times than you think, over the years he's been out of the team mostly due to injury. If you want to talk about preferential tre...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

did anyone read about Mitch Marsh? Because Smiffy called Paine up to the stumps to Mitch because he was bowling slow speeds, Mitch got in a huff and texted Smiffy that he doesn't want to bowl anymore in this match. Good, finish this game and pack your bags, you should never have played anyway. Big ...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

No Aussie would ever throw away a full can lol I've managed to get an esky in at (some) venues for WAFL games, but that's it for BYO AFAIK. Why don't they just ban the idiots who can't handle their drink and behave??? Relevant to members, they could easily have their memberships taken off them. It'...

Flats are great but IMO tapes are better. They seem to create more mid tone volume.
This. I switched years ago
The only thing I would add, changing from the bronze will give you a significant volume drop - this may or may not matter to you.

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

The spinner will more than likely be Agar, given they seem to like him a lot, but I'd like to see them blood a leggie, such as Swepson.... Agar has some talent with the bat, the selectors seem to put a priority on that, but his bowling isn't very effective at wicket taking. Swepson deserves a shot.

Re: Rickenbacker owners....

how can they sell these basses without the truss rod tool? I know right? I've received truss rod tools with every new guitar/bass I've ever bought, and some 2nd-hand ones too! Ive got replacement screws of the exact same size but different style head holding on the jack plate, but.... they’re not r...

Rickenbacker owners....

Hi guys, I just got an email from *Pick of the Ricks* that their little truss rod tool is back in stock. I got tired of waiting quite some time ago and ground down a socket to do the job, but if any of you were hanging out for this tool, it's finally available again. http://www.pickofthericks.com/1-...

Re: the MOVIE REVIEW thread

I've been on a B-grade sci-fi bender lately.
Synchronicity & Infinity Room weren't bad.
I finally got around to watching Cube - pretty good for a low budget film.
And I finally saw Event Horizon, which is not a great movie...

Re: Mesh wifi setups - anyone using one at home?

We have our modem/hardline connection at one end of out long rectangular shaped house. Same problem. So with our wireless setup on one end plugged into the hardline, and then we ran a parallel cable paired off the hardline in the roofspace to the other side of the house, situated above the hallway i...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

Yes, recent problem in my opinion. Clearly, he is a backfoot player who plays deep in the crease. He wasn't batting quite like this last summer. Being a back-foot player isn't a bad thing - many a good player in that category, to me the problem is where he is starting from. He is so deep in the cre...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

^ Is Hazelwood finished growing? He seems to be getting taller. He's always been tall. I went to a GABBA test when I first moved to QLD, Aust V India in 2015. At one point he was fielding in front of me on the 3rd man boundary, and Craig McDermot walked along the boundary rope to chat to him. McDer...
